Operational Procedures and Technology

The wireless technology landscape has encountered systemic changes that bode well for stakeholders in the public safety market. To be sure, the suite of existing wireless standards that revolve around the Internet Protocol (IP) and the convergence of Land Mobile Radio and broadband technologies, uniquely situates public safety stakeholders to design, acquire and implement wireless voice, data and video IP networks capable of meeting the strategic planning and implementation imperatives of governance bodies with oversight responsibility for endeavors of this nature.  Since wireless technologies harmoniously coexist with IP standards, a multiplicity of interoperability applications could be fashioned to meet the vetted needs of public safety stakeholders. Given the vast array of voice, data and video interoperability applications that exist today, it is essential that bottom-up planning inclusive of comprehensive needs assessments are conducted to ensure that the most appropriate interoperability applications and system design architectures are mapped to the operational requirements of first responders. Roaming Intelligence created a proven approach that is systemic in nature and culminates in the development of qualitative system definition solution options, congruent with the federal government’s “Systems of Systems” vision.
